Defoe Set To Join Rangers

Rangers have now reached a formal agreement to sign Defoe on a loan deal which will last for 18 months that will take the former striker of England up to winding up of his contract with the club of Bournemouth.

Jermain who is at present 36 years old joined the club of Bournemouth from Sunderland on a free transfer in the month of July in 2017 but he has made only 4 appearances in this season of Premier League, and all from the bench only, and has not even scored once since the month of March last year.

Although it is unlikely to happen that Jermain will play for the club of Bournemouth once again – the 3-year contract that he signed will be expired by the time he will finish his spell at the Rangers. The club of Premier League has inserted only 2 recall clauses in the agreement of loan, by providing them the choice to bring Jermain back in the team. The 1st clause can be activated only in the month of July 2019 and the 2nd one in January 2020.

Jermain will be joining the club of Rangers, who are at the 2nd position in the ongoing Scottish Premiership, at their camp of training in Tenerife.

Ralph Hasenhuttl has also confirmed that the Steven Davis, the midfielder of Southampton is all set to rejoin the Rangers. The player who is 34 years old left the club of Ibrox in order to sign for the Saints in 2012 during the summer. Now, Davis has found his 1st team chances very limited and Ralph said “the fact that he has a contract of only one and a half year until the summer comes, so basically we want him to give some chances to move to next step. If there is even the slightest possibility then no doubt we will help him in doing so.”
